Counselling can come in many forms. Through talking and listening with a professional it can be a space to feel heard, a shoulder to cry on, provide encouragement, or empowerment through life's adversities. Counselling can help clarify issues or create and implement strategies to bring positive changes within your journey as a dancer and a human being.

I have the ability to deliver counselling in many formats; Face to face, Walk N Talk, or virtually on Zoom. 

​

Session costs are $95 for a 50 minute counselling session.

If I was to re-do my months of auditioning for ballet companies one thing I would change is to have an active support person to guide me through it all.   • Get to know each other, catch me up on where you are in your dance journey, ask me any questions and share any of your concerns.

  • Talk through how best to utilise the Mindfulness sheet, Affirmation Backgrounds, Self-Care Checklist and Mindfulness Memo Recordings

  • Run down on how your Audition Wellness Package will operate

  • Book in for your first session for before your audition, or whenever is the best for your schedule.

FIRST 50 Minute SESSION WILL LOOK INTO:

Book before audition/s

  • Your audition mindset (Hopes, Fears & Expectations)

  • Past experiences and responses

  • Identifying your locus of control

  • Tools to refine any of the above processes that are not serving you

This session is designed to increase your awareness around how you approach auditions and if there’s anything that you would like to change.

 

There are so many elements at play when we are auditioning, it can be so easy to put all of the responsibility on ourselves. So we will take a look at where your power truly lies in this season that you are in, and where you are hoping you will end up.

​

This session is a nice mix of looking at what is real and instilling hope to power you through this vulnerable time you’re entering into.

SECOND 50 Minute SESSION WILL LOOK INTO:

Book after audition/s

  • Debrief after audition events

  • Identify any shifts in mindset you noticed or feel are needed

  • Re-focus and refine your hopes for the future (whether this is for more auditions, or deciding whether the job is for you or not).

This follow-up session is the safe place you need after your audition. Whether it’s the next day or after getting that email (if it comes!..) to say literally whatever comes to mind! We’ll look at how your experience has coloured what we spoke of prior and adjust any goals or dreams to help get you to that next step in your journey.

MENTAL WELLBEING workshops for dance schools

The Compassionate Dancer Workshop

Become a self-compassionate dancer, and stop listening and allow the inner critic to rule your thoughts, emotions, body and overall wellbeing. Reduce stress, anxiety & depression; increase emotional intelligence, personal initiative, curiosity, exploration and cognitive performance.

This workshop uses the Body Mind Connection as a basis of understanding how our inner critic and negative mindset can negatively AND positively influence our dancing. Participants will be taught mindfulness and self-compassionate techniques to reduce overthinking and ruminating thoughts that speak doubt and fear in class; and increase their resilience to be able to take on any external pressures they may face in their dance journey (casual or professional!).

Self-compassion is not simply about being kind to ourselves. Learning how to practice self-compassion can provide individuals the ability to accept circumstances and themselves despite any imperfections or short comings. With dancers frequently known to seek out perfectionism in their art, self-compassion is an excellent skill to cultivate in order to accept their reality, yet continue to strive and grow towards becoming more of the dancer they want to be.
